While pasting big text, the note is freezing.

  When pasting a big text (with a lot of words) the note is suddenly freezing (scrolling doesn’t work) until I press the back button and go to the home. This is occurring only when the text contains a lot of words.

  Hi. Could you please identify your platform (Mac, iPhone, Samsung phone, etc.), and whether you’re using the Simplenote app on your device, or the web app in a browser.

  Hi @dampcat, could you give us an idea of of what “a lot of words” mean, how many is that?

  You can recreate the issue in the following way:

  1. Type any heading sich as ‘abcd’ in the heading section
  2. Paste a sample text of around 1000 words in the body. The screen will freeze at the last line of the writing.

  You can use https://www.lipsum.com/ to generate a 1000 words sample text.

  Hi @dampcat,

  I generated a 1000-word text and pasted into my macOS desktop app, and didn’t experience any issues.

  Would you share which app you’re using on which device, and the app version and OS versions? If you’re using a web app, please share the browser version as well.

  Hey all,

  Thanks for the reports here. I’ve passed them along to our engineers. I don’t have a fix to share for this issue at this time, but if you’re able to split long notes into smaller ones, or paste smaller amounts of text at a time, that may reduce how often this happens.

  Thanks for the device information.

  We’ve added that to the internal tracking issue.

  At present, we don’t have a timeline for when this will be addressed, so we recommend splitting notes / pasting smaller amounts of text at a time.
