Unable to import single Evernote .enex file using Simplenote Windows desktop
-
Hello,
I am unable to import a single Evernote .enex file using the Simplenote Windows desktop application. Returns error message, “A JavaScript error occurred in the main process. Uncaught Exception: Error: ENOENT: no such file or directory, open ‘C:windowssystem32France and Norway travel.enex’. Can you please assist?
Thank you,
Ben

Hi @bentreadgold, sorry to hear you’ve ran into this issue. It’s a bug that we’ve made our team aware of, however, we don’t have a timeline of when it might be fixed.
In the meantime, here’s a potential workaround that should let you get your Evernote notes into Simplenote:
- In Evernote, export your notes as individual .txt or .md (plain text/Markdown) files instead of .enex.
- In the Simplenote desktop app, go to File > Import Notes and select those .txt or .md files. Alternatively, you can import plain text files through the Simplenote web app – click the menu (three horizontal lines) in the top left, go to Settings > Tools, and click Import Notes.
- Once imported through either method, your notes should sync across all your devices.

I hope it helps!
