the captcha is confusing

  • Hi @nexsenze, your post came through nearly empty. Could you share more about what you find confusing with the captcha?

Man the captcha was driving me insane today. made me pick motorcycles and busses until i wanted to pull my hair out.

I’m not sure what’s happening with it, but I’m pretty sure bots are better at captchas than humans are at this point (particularly these old ones) and I’m temped to just build a bot to do my captcha’s here if this keeps up, which is a nutty workaround given the point of a captcha.

I love simplenote and will always love it, but being forced to do endless captchas (not to mention claim that scooters are motorcycles, perhaps trains are busses? etc etc) is quite frustrating. I don’t know what the best practice is for this nowadays, but I’m hoping they do away with the oldschool captcha.

Hi. If you’re accessing Simplenote in a browser, I find the captcha is easier if I turn OFF “Prevent Cross-Site Tracking”. With it enabled, I have to play the game multiple times; with it disabled, only once. I suppose the captcha site shares a cookie with the Simplenote server.

  • Thanks @johnswift37 for the useful tip. @nexsenze and @jonsmithregistery – let us know if that helps. If the issue persists, it’d be good to know your browser setup (e.g., Private/incognito mode? Any extensions? What type and version of the browser you’re using, e.g., Firefox)
