@cveac9a9545f58c We just resent the email to you. Please let us know if you receive it.
@nextpulse Would you mind sharing more details regarding your issue?
For example, did you make some edits on the Simplenote Web app that don’t sync to the Simplenote apps on your other devices, or vice versa?
Can you also share the following:
- what devices you use Simplenote on
- their operating systems and versions
- the Simplenote versions on each
- the browser and version you use to access https://app.simplenote.com
If you prefer to share this in private (not in public), please let us know so we can email you. Thanks.

@nextpulse just saw you already posted your own thread here.
We can continue troubleshooting your problem there, if you still need any assistance. Thank you!

I want to understand
- how and
- what exactly
- triggers a new or changed note on the smart phone
to be synchronized with the online master data base.
-
Hi @cveac9a9545f58c! When you create or edit notes in any of the Simplenote apps, they automatically and wirelessly sync to the servers.
I would recommend giving the app some time to sync your changes to the servers before closing the app especially after you edit a long note. Sometimes a network glitch may disrupt the connection from your device to the Simplenote servers. You may also want to make sure that you allow the Simplenote app to run in the background so it can access the internet to sync your note changes in the background after you close the app.

Hi @cveac9a9545f58c!
When you create or edit notes in any of the Simplenote apps, they automatically
—> what triggers – or inhibits – it?I would recommend giving the app some time to sync your changes to the servers before closing the app
—> How much time? The app is up an running even for hours without synching.
—> The App is my permanent companion, so it is almost always open
You may also want to make sure that you allow the Simplenote app to run in the background

…. “I would recommend giving the app some time to sync your changes to the servers before closing the app”
—> I do not understand why then- the download of notes (new/update) to the smart phone / tablet takes place immediately (reliable) – you can observe it
- wheareas the update does not.
-
Hi! I don’t understand what you mean by “wheareas the update does not.”
Are you saying that when you open your device, you immediately see the notes from https://app.simplenote.com/? But when you edit a note on your device, it takes a while to sync with the web app?
-
“Are you saying that when you open your device, you immediately see the notes from https://app.simplenote.com/?
…Either immediately (updated in the background) or
you can seen that the notes are beeing downloaded (eg. after a restart of the phone)
“But when you edit a note on your device, it takes a while to sync with the web app?”
…yes: sometimes hours, days or (seldomly not at all) -
Thank you for letting us know that when you edit a note on your device, it takes a while to sync with the web app. It sounds like the device you’re writing on is having trouble syncing to our servers, which is why content is slow to appear in your other apps from that device. It has to get to our servers first from the device before we can then show it in places like the web app and other devices.
I would advise you to check for a VPN or ad-blocker on the device that’s having trouble syncing content to our servers so it can show on other devices. This is the most common cause of issues like you’re seeing.
If that doesn’t help, can you share a bit more information?
- what devices you use Simplenote on
- their operating systems and versions
- the Simplenote versions on each
- the browser and version you use to access https://app.simplenote.com

Hello
I do not have a VPN or ad-blocker on my devices installed.- what devices you use Simplenote on
a) Samsung Galaxy Phone A32
b) Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite – SM-T860 - their operating systems and versions
Android 13 - the Simplenote versions on each
2.32 (166) - the browser and version you use to access https://app.simplenote.com
I do not use the browser but:
– Android App (here is the problem)
– Windows App (electron, there is not problem and it warms you if a note has not been synching).
- what devices you use Simplenote on
-
Hmmm… it looks like none of us can reproduce the behavior you described. I also use the Simplenote app all day on my Galaxy S23, however it syncs with the web app immediately. I have Android 14.
Please log in to the Simplenote web app from within a web browser and check you have all your notes.
If all your notes are there, try deleting the Android app, and then re-install it.

I have another note created on my phone troday 07:46 and
until now (17:38) still not synched.I had de-installed the Simpolenote Android App and re-installed it;
after some time, the problem occurs again. -
Hi @cveac9a9545f58c. Thanks for the update.
I had de-installed the Simpolenote Android App and re-installed it;
after some time, the problem occurs again. Was there any action that preceded the sync issue that you can tell? If there is an action, we can try to reproduce the behavior that would help. Besides the unsynced note created on 6 August 2024, do you see the rest of the notes synced when signing in to app.simplenote.com?
-
No, there was any action that preceded the sync issue I can tell.
Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce the issue of unsynced notes.
As per Murphy it happens when you do not expect it. -
@cveac9a9545f58c We just released an update to the Android app that has several bug fixes and performance improvements. Please update Simplenote to version 2.34 on the Play Store.
