Server connection down 3 days now in Ireland
-
Hey, I’m in Ireland and cant access http://simperium.com/ plus it says I have no server connection. Tried a different browser, the same.
It says the server is up online so maybe its country specific? Would be nice to get my desktop and mobile notes synched again. Cheers. -
Same issue again also in Paraguay. I have to use an American VPN in order to sync. This has been happening on and off all year.
-
Same issue here in Montenegro. Have to rely on a VPN for Simplenote to sync, which sounds insane. I’m pretty sure some new anti-DDoS system went on and carpet blocked every IP coming from every country where any even remotely suspicious activity ever occurred. Kinda insulting, tbh.

@shanewalsh247, @mmaluff, and @kondratovbr: We don’t have any known blocks for the countries you’re in. To help us investigate, however, can you please let us know the following?
- How long has this been going on for you, and how consistently?
- Does the issue persist on mobile, at home, or in the office?
- Are you aware if the issue happens for other people you might know in your country?
-
- on and off all week. Before that it didnt happen in months
- I cant access simperium on any of my devices. But its back to normal today thankfully
- Not sure about other people
-
@shanewalsh247 thanks for sharing this with us. We’ve relayed this to our team for a closer look. So just to be sure, the issues are all resolved now?
To clarify, we have not made any changes on our side which would cause such an issue
-
Hey, I got the same problem here in Indonesia. Notes note syncing and cant access simperium.com.

@staff-cara:
- On and off all year, at least since January. It’s not entirely constant, but I’d say about 80% of the time, I have not been able to connect to simperium.com from my home ISP.
- The issue occurs primarily with my home ISP, though there were times when my mobile network was also affected.
- I know only one other Simplenote user in my country, and she lives in my home and shares my mobile network, so she’s had the same issues to the same extent I have.
-
Hi @mmaluff,
Thanks for sharing details. Since the issue seems somewhat tied to the network (i.e., primarily affecting your home ISP), would you try checking your home network settings?
For example, if you’re using a router, you may try resetting it. Please see if your network has any sort of blocking or filtering installed on it as well. One example would be this: https://pi-hole.net

It’s on your end. Really looks like some DDoS guard, WAF, etc. Maybe it’s your setup, maybe it’s the data center.

@staff-cara mobile, landline, multiple devices, all the same. Has nothing to do with accounts – see my replies above. It is country related.
-
same here in France, no connection to simperium over Wifi, works over mobile data thought
-
Hi @kondratovbr and @bezuaris,
Thank you for the detailed network information and for confirming that the issue seems to be country-related and intermittent.
This does sound similar to an issue we’ve been tracking down. Our systems team made some changes yesterday that we hope will alleviate these connectivity problems.
If you’re still having trouble, you can also try connecting your devices to a different network (like mobile data) or restarting your Wi-Fi modem to get a new IP address from your ISP.

I just wanted to confirm that, since @staff-frank’s announcement, I’ve had no issues here in Paraguay. Thank you!
