Simplenote is empty of all entries on second mobile device

I use SN on my Windows machine and Android phone without any issues – I can add and edit and they both sync flawlessly. However, I want to install it on another mobile device, my Shanling DAP.
First, I tried repeatedly to log in using known SN password on the Shanling, but it said the credentials were wrong. I tested out the password on my PC successfully. So, it was not the password or ID. Finally, I used WordPress to successfully login to it on my DAP.
Now, I have a second problem. Entries are not being populated. There is circle going round and round next to “All Notes”. I have verifiedf that my internet is rock solid as I can surf, no problem. The circle keeps going round and round during repeated sessions.Any ideas? TIA.
