I want to delete my account. So I have to “request” deletion. WTF? You really want to make it hard to leave, don’t you.
Ok so I do that, get a link to delete my account, and it requires my password. But it won’t accept my password. Says it’s wrong. WTF? Yep, you REALLY want to make it hard to leave…
So I log out and try to log back in again. Seems my password here is wrong too. Weird that, because I saved it in my Mac’s passwords app and it worked fine before I requested deletion. So where’s a forgot password option?
Ok, I can log in with a code that’s emailed to me. I put my email into that option and I get a login code in seconds. Ok so you make it reeeeaal easy to get in, despite how hard it is to leave.
Still I want treat my password now that I’m in. But ffs… I can’t do that in the account settings without knowing my old one. You reaaaaly don’t want me to delete my account do you.
Seems there is a forgot password option, but it’s buried in the middle of the FAQ’s on the support page.
So I go to that link, enter the same email address you just emailed the login code to, and get a message saying “we’ll send a password reset link to that email address. 15 minutes go by, no email.
Hmm did I paste the wrong email address in? I paste it into my Notes app. Looks right. I log out and paste it in on the login page via the code option. Again I get the login code in seconds. So the email was right.
WTF is going on? Send me the damn password reset email, or just let me $&^*ing delete my account without my password like any other app or service does.
If I was ever going to come back to this before I’m definitely not going to now.
What do I have to do?

A clearer title would help.
And you can just delete your data. The existence of your account is not significant. No one is sending emails to your account.

you won’t find a more straightforward system out there that sinks and runs universally on all devices.
if you’re leaving I would suggest exporting all your data first then deleting the data and just ignoring the account, you never know you may realise the errors of your ways and come back to the best note taking app out there
