Markdown mode still shows sigils

  I type

  # Header

  and Simplenote’s markdown view shows

  # Header

  where I would expect to just see

  Header

  is this a “feature” or a bug?

  Similarly, dashes as list indicators are not converted to bullets. I should see

  • foo
  • I really did type a – there ad WordPress Markdown did the conversion

  Hi. It “works for me” using the iOS Simplenote app. Different platforms have different implementations. How are you using Simplenote?

  Since the last update, Markdown tags are no longer rendering as formatted HTML in the preview. This functionality seems to have been broken in the latest release

  @olharnaeternidade. What platform are you using Simplenote on? It is working for me on both the iOS app and the web app.

  @rdmorin. Which version of Simplenote are you using on the Mac? The AppStore version, the Electron version downloaded from GitHub, or the Simplenote web app in (which) browser? These implementations are unfortunately all different, and can have different bugs/problems.

  I think I see the same issue, v2.26.1 (also 2.26.0), MacBook Pro 2020, I think it’s homebrew version, but I did the last update through SimpleNote itself, it that matters. Not a problem on Android. Specifically, it seems to both ignore “Markdown” check (same display regardless) and show sigils ie

  “# Header” is rendered “# Header” (also Header is larger font)

  Hi. Apparently this is the new normal for the Electron version of Simplenote, see https://forums.simplenote.com/forums/topic/markdown-setting-not-working-at-all/
