Mac future OS compatibility warning from Apple

My MAC w/ Tahoe OS26 says “Support Ending for Intel-based Apps This version of “Simplenote” will not open in a future release of macOS.”

Hi @amilholland,
Thanks for posting about this. The warning you’re seeing is expected – the version of Simplenote available in the Mac App Store (v2.21) is an older Intel-only build, and Apple is letting you know it won’t be supported in a future macOS release.
The good news is there’s a newer version of Simplenote (v2.26.1) that runs natively on Apple Silicon. It’s available as a direct download from GitHub rather than the Mac App Store.
Here’s how to switch:
- Quit Simplenote and optionally remove the current version from your Applications folder. Your notes are safely stored in your Simplenote account, so nothing will be lost.
- You can export your notes as a fallback from your Simplenote app settings.
- Download the latest macOS release from: https://github.com/Automattic/simplenote-electron/releases/latest (look for the
.dmgfile) - Open the downloaded
.dmgand drag Simplenote into your Applications folder. - Launch Simplenote and sign in. Your notes will sync back automatically.
Once installed, the compatibility warning should no longer appear.
Let us know if you have any questions!
