Changing Usernames

  Hi there, is there a way to see available or similar usernames?
  
  I want to shorten from my full legal name to a shorter nickname, and it presumably is not already taken by another account. Simplenote says it’s not available which it must be, but there is no way to contact support or investigate.

  Do you mean for the Simplenote forum or for the Simplenote app? I believe the Simplenote app currently uses the email as the user name, so you would need an email address first.

  You can change your WordPress.com username here: wordpress.com/me/.

  Hey @zacharysuhar,

  If you’d like to change the display name shown on this forum, that’s managed through your WordPress.com account settings at https://wordpress.com/me. Look for the “Display name” option there. Username availability on the forum is governed by WordPress.com, not Simplenote.

  If you’re looking to change the email address you use to sign in to Simplenote, that isn’t currently supported. The recommended approach is to export your notes from your current account and import them into a new account created with a different email. Details on exporting and importing can be found here:
