Backing up Simplenote content

I’m a longtime user of Simplenote on multiple platforms, and I decided finally that I really should back up my Simplenote content. I did that, then after I added new content two days later, I attempted to back it up again. The second backup gave me no options (different filename, different folder) and overwrote the earlier backup. I would like to have more control over the backup process — as I suggested, the option to have multiple dated backups and/or backups in different locations. Is this possible? Thank you. Another helpful thing would be an option for periodic automatic backupss, which I’d probably be willing to pay extra for, depending on the cost.

Hi. I just rename the backup file after it’s created. My weekly backups are up to notes.143.zip right now. Could use a date, but the sequence number is good enough to separate the files. The changes you suggest might be nice, but are unlikely to come about.
