Adding a tag from the list of existing tags
-
The Tag option is nice, but it would be great if I could add a tag when creating a new note by selecting the relevant tag(s) from the list of tags I already have created. It would be faster and I would avoid making typos or creating a variant of an already existing tag.
Did I miss a function? Or would this be a request for a new option?

Hi. First, if you open a particular tag list before creating a note, it will already have that tag. This is a handy shortcut.
Then, as you begin typing a tag, Simplenote will show options for auto-completion. I use that all the time. For example, I have several tags beginning with “iPad”, so I just type “ip” and pick from the list presented. Note that the matching is not case-sensitive. I never type the full string for a tag unless I’m intentionally creating something new. And, of course, you can always add or delete tags from a note later, if you’ve missed one.
The above features apply to the Simplenote iOS app; not sure if they work on other platforms.
