Hi there,
Sebastian here. I hope you are doing well. Sorry for the trouble getting back into your account. Let me share a few steps that should help.
First, a quick reassurance: the prompt asking you to update your password does not mean Simplenote itself was breached. When you sign in, Simplenote checks your password against public lists of credentials that have leaked from other services. If your password appears on one of those lists, we ask that you set a new one before logging in to keep your account safe.
Here is what I would try:
- Reset your password using this form: https://app.simplenote.com/forgot/. Enter the email address associated with your account, and we will send you a reset link.
- If the email does not arrive within a few minutes, check your Spam or Junk folder. If you use Gmail, also look in the Promotions and Updates tabs, and try searching your inbox for “Simplenote”, since automated emails sometimes get filtered there.
- Keep in mind that each Simplenote account is tied to one specific email address and username, and accounts cannot be merged or looked up by name. The username,
aderlodi, appears to be a recently new account. If you have used more than one email over the years, your long-standing notes are likely under the original address you first signed up with, so it is worth running the reset with that email.
If you have tried these steps and still cannot get back in, just reply here to let me know. Account recovery can involve details that should not be shared on a public forum, so at that point we can reach out to you privately to help you regain access.

Warm regards,
