Very slow on Android Oppo Find X2 Neo
-
For some time now, the application has been very slow. Android often asks whether to wait or close the app. I have already installed the latest version from PlayStore.
-
Hi. Do you have a good internet connection? Is it maybe better on WiFi?
Have you tried the web app, app.simplenote.com, in a browser?
-
Hi, the slowness is only found with the app, both with Wi-Fi connection and with 4G connection. Through the web it is not slow. Thank you.

@espansivamente Can you let us know the following?
- Simplenote app version on your phone
- Your phone’s Android OS version
In addition, does the app only become slow when you try to visit certain parts of the app, do specific actions, or tap certain icons/buttons?
-
Simplenote app version 2.34 (174)
OS version: Android 12 (Oppo ColorOS V12.1)
In particular, it is slow in the transition from searching in all notes to writing a new note. In the various passages, the waits are long. The application does not respond to commands. In some cases, you will see the message that the application is not responding and you will be asked whether to wait or close the application.

Hi @espansivamente,
There may be some performance issues on older Android devices.
In the meantime, you might try the following:
- Update to Android 14.
- Try updating to the latest version of the Simplenote app (2.35).
- Restart the app.
- Clear app cache and data. You can do this in your device’s settings.
- Ensure your device has sufficient storage space.
- Disable unnecessary background apps.

Hi @staff-frank,
The smartphone is updated to the latest official update…. There are no memory and resource problems… I will try to update the app by following your advice.
Thank you very much.
-
Thanks, @espansivamente! Do let us know if the situation doesn’t improve even with the app update.
-
Thank you @staff-cara
The update seems to have improved the situation: now the latency is lower and the message that the application is not responding does not appear. However, after copying the text of a note and pressing the back key on smartphone, the back key on display remains illuminated for about two seconds and the application remains locked for the same time… Then the application will work again.
Certainly the smartphone is not the most recent but… Is an octa-core Qualcomm microprocessor with 12GB (+3GB) of RAM and 256GB of memory (partially used)… I work under Wi-Fi with fiber connection or 4G with maximum network signal… As you can imagine, I usually work without problems and without significant latencies…
Anyway, thank you very much for your feedback.
