Various problems with app stability/synchronization

I migrated from Evernote and absolutely love how simple and minimalistic this app is, it has absolutely everything I need, but I’ve been having so many problems with it it’s so frustrating. :(
Firstly, I imported all my notes from Evernote, some of them synced with no problem whatsoever, some of them got stuck with the loading symbol thingy. Tried deleting them and importing them singularly, nothing. Tried doing the same from the web app, nothing. Logged out everywhere, logged back in, deleted all my notes, re-imported them again, split the non-synchronizing notes in half in case they were too big (I have one that’s over 1 million characters), tried creating new notes and copy-pastying, nothing. The exact same notes never sync no matter what I do. I’ve read all the posts from the forum I could but nothing helped.
Secondly, the Windows app from the Microsoft Store keeps on crashing after a while. I type, after like, 5 minutes it will start slowing down like it’s not able to keep up with the typing and then the screen just goes blank and I have to restart everything. The app is on version 2.22.1.
I feel like I’ve tried everything! There’s absolutely something I’m missing here but I have no idea what it is. Please help!

- Which device are you using Simplenote on?
- What version of the operating system is your device running?
Also, please note we just released an update to the Windows app that has bug fixes and performance improvements. Please update Simplenote to version 2.22.2.
Let us know if these issues persist after updating the app.

Hi, thank you for your reply! To answer your questions, I’m using a PC with Windows Home, version 23H2.
I have noticed some other users mentioning the 2.22.2 version, however there are no available updates on the store as far as I can tell. Are there are any ways I can update manually? (sorry I’m a super extra noob with these things.) I’m in Italy, if that makes any difference.

Thank you, I updated the app and it looks much more stable now. Used it regularly for a couple hours and had no crashes.
As for synchronization, the same notes that didn’t sync before, or that I couldn’t even import because the app got stuck on the “importing…” screen still don’t sync at all. I think length might be the problem here, they are very long. I ended up splitting the 1-million-characters note I was talking about into (many) other notes, I’ll probably do the same with the others as well.
I’m actually quite content, I’m going to leave the thread open in case you have other suggestions as to why this is happening. Could there be a reason why the same exact notes from the same batch never sync?

How fast and reliable is your internet connection? I wonder if your very large notes might fail to sync due to a timeout at the server.

I’d say it’s average, maybe on the faster side. A server timeout actually does make a lot of sense, they are very long notes :^)
Alright, I don’t want to drag this more than it needs to, I have backups of everything so splitting some notes isn’t a problem at all. I can consider myself satisfied. Thank you very much for your support!
