Too much login / captcha
-
On android you only have to login once. On a pc it’s like every month. Please use a longer cookie time.

I second this. I actually don’t mind if I have to login every time, but the captcha makes it painful. Is that a traffic light? Is that a motorcycle?

@dickf6a04b3bf3d I have passed your feedback about the captcha on to our Simplenote development team. Thanks for the feedback.

The Captcha is insane, especially when you’re using a VPN. SimpleNote seems absolutely hostile to VPNs, and then it happens lots of times that after solving 234912049 Captchas, you still get ‘unauthorized’ and can start all over again…
I’m close to deleting my account – this is becoming unusable on desktop browsers, and I can’t use any service that is only reliable on phone. -
The problem with the Captcha is that sometimes you just get a tiny corner filled with the crossroads and it becomes stressful deciding if you should click it or not.
-
Once Per month? That would be fine. For me it’s once a day. Or any time I open a new browser window, whichever comes first.
It didn’t used to be like this.
Can I please opt-out of all captchas? If someone steals my password, they can have my notes. I have backups.

I understand how this could be really frustrating and we sincerely appreciate all your feedback. We’ve made a note of all your comments and are adding them to the customer feedback we’re receiving. Thanks!

We’re actively considering a better implementation to enhance the login experience and are still working on it. We really appreciate your patience and understanding as we work on this improvement.

Hello, I would just like to add that after being frustrated by this issue for many months, I finally gave up and switched to Notion.
-
@hadakahidaka We are sorry to hear that! That’s definitely not the experience we want you to have.
Another user has shared this workaround you may want to try:
using Windows 11 and Firefox browser:
1) Go to app.simplenote.com
2) Click on shield icon on the left side of the URL address bar
3) Turn off “Enhanced Tracking Protection”I hope this helps!

I second this frustration. Sometimes I must log in several times in one day, it’s excessive. Furthermore, the Captchas are way too much. Obviously I’m paying with my time to train driverless cars, it’s annoying.

Thanks for chiming in, @larsifrahundvg! Our developers are aware of this issue and they are looking into it. While we do not have an exact timeline for a fix, I can assure you that it’s on our radar.
