Syncing is breaking my note file

    Hi,

    I’ve got a long note file with lots of tick boxes in it, and just now and last week it’s got garbled by Simplenote, which has gone and replaced lots of sections of 4 letters with – [ ]x
    It hasn’t replaced consistent sets of letters, so I can’t fix it with a single find and replace.

    The last time it happened I was able to restore a recent version on my computer, but when I tried to look at the history in the Firefox version just now, it is showing that the previous file is from 11th June which is incorrect as I know I’ve edited it multiple times since then, and my phone can just about show me that I definitely have versions on 19th June but it keeps crashing when I try to load those older versions on my phone.

    So there are two bugs: first the bug that’s replacing random bits of text with – []x and second the bug that’s failing to show me all of my recent history. And thirdly the bug that’s stopping the file from loading history properly on my phone without crashing, though that may be because it’s a really long note file, but if that’s the case then I’d like the system to warn me when the file gets too big, rather than invisibly failing.

    Do you recall if there was any change in the app (app update) or on your device (OS update) before this happened?

    Can you please list down the app version and device details (OS version)?

    second the bug that’s failing to show me all of my recent history.

    The app displays only revision history for changes that were synced to the server. If you didn’t see the revision history, it is most likely that the change were never synced.

    thirdly the bug that’s stopping the file from loading history properly on my phone without crashing, though that may be because it’s a really long note file, but if that’s the case then I’d like the system to warn me when the file gets too big, rather than invisibly failing.

    How long was the note (approximate number of words) that is causing the crashes?
