Sync issues – lost several notes

I’ve been using Simplenote for over 10 years and love it, but lately I’m having more and more synchronization issues and this is becoming really problematic.

My latest issue: connecting today (21 Feb), I’ve lost everything I’ve done for the last 36 hours (since 19 Feb evening). During that time I’ve used Simplenote on my phone, created a new note and updated several notes. I am traveling and don’t have my computer but I tried opening Simplenote on my iPad to see if it would help. Things got a lot worse because one of my notes (that I use very often) got synchronized back to the last time I used Simplenote on my iPhone a few months ago! So now I’ve lost a lot of work and useful information.

Does anyone have suggestions to get my notes back? (Or a suggestion for a new, more reliable notes app because I’m really upset about losing all my work)

Should have added: I have version 4.55 on an iPhone and iPad with the latest iOS

Hi. You could try opening app.simplenote.com in a browser. That web app accesses the Simplenote cloud server directly. But it may only confirm the situation. See if you can recover anything from the history for those notes; it’s in the (…) icon. I suspect that the provider(s) you’re connecting through may not have reliable routes to the simperium.com servers in Dallas, TX.

In future, I’d recommend always checking the web app after significant changes, to be sure they’ve been synced. I set the web app to list “Modified: Newest first” to make checking easier.

As a reliable alternative, you could choose Apple Notes. It’s already on your devices, and can use iCloud for storage.
