Sync fails on just one note

    Long term user and find SN excellent (thank you).

    Today I had a note that wouldn’t sync from one phone (Android) to another. All other notes updates to the 2nd phone immediately.

    When I changed the note on the 2nd phone, it synced to the first no problem (though I lost some data as I had been updating that particular note on the first phone).

    Anyone seen this behaviour before and/or know what might be causing it?

    Hmm. That’s very strange, since your other recent changes sync correctly. You probably know that sync doesn’t actually go between devices, but between each device and the Simplenote cloud server. The second device gets the new data from the cloud. You can check the contents of the server by logging in to app.simplenote.com in a web browser. I wonder if the app on the first phone somehow thinks that the server’s copy of the note is newer than its own.

    Can you try logging in to the Simplenote web app from within a web browser at https://app.simplenote.com/?

    Then, please check the notes from there to see if they are all correct and up to date.

    If they are, you can safely log out and log back in to the Simplenote app on all your devices. When you log in again, all of the notes that are stored on the Simplenote service will be re-synced and that should resolve any syncing issues going forward.

    If you aren’t seeing the correct notes in the web app or another Simplenote app, please let us know and we can continue troubleshooting from there. Please let us know:

    • What devices you use Simplenote on
    • Their operating systems and versions
    • The Simplenote versions on each
