Support for language orientation
-
hello,
Why is the orientation of languages not yet supported in the application, it makes all languages in one direction, and cannot differentiate between the orientation of Arabic and English, it makes them both in one direction according to the language of the phone and not the orientation of the language in which I am typing.
Why is this bug ignored until now and not fixed? Also, when will they add formatting to the text, I can’t enlarge the font or make it a title, there is no formatting, I don’t know why, the app doesn’t offer anything, I’m looking for an alternative unfortunately.

Hi, @d4rjpbfws7! Can you let us know which app you are using? The web app already supports RTL orientation for text.

Hello, @staff-cara
I use the ios app.
It doesn’t support RTL, it makes all languages one way, within a single note.
-
Thanks for specifying! Checking now I can write a note in both Arabic, RTL, and English, LTR. Can you share what language(s) you’re trying to write in that’s giving you trouble in our iOS app? If possible, a screen recording of what you’re experiencing would be appreciated as well.

Could this be related to the screen keyboard being used? Are you both using the Apple built-in keyboard?
-
This works correctly for me also, on iPadOS 17.6.1 Simplenote 4.51. I had to Add a Language, then Add a Keyboard. Then, using the Apple screen keyboard, I can switch between languages using long press on the Globe icon. I notice that the RTL language is not right-justified, but don’t know if that’s a problem. Justification would be up to the Apple KB in any case, not the Simplenote app.

Hi @tomerstern1981! That is not a feature that we currently offer in the web app, but I have forwarded your request to the team for consideration.
