simplenote mistakenly detects things as links
-
it’s ambiguously inconsistent and I can’t currently replicate it, but often when I try to type a number with a decimal point it is highlighted blue and underlined like a link, and even putting spaces on either side of the decimal point won’t make it go away. maybe I’m just too autistic but it’s visually stressful; I wish there was a way to disable link detection in its entirety, as I never use links (and even if I did I wouldn’t want them highlighted and underlined)

Hi @cloudisnotalizard. Could you please identify your device, and whether you’re using the Simplenote app or the web app through a browser? I suspect this is just your system’s way of marking a possible date or time, nothing to do with Simplenote. I see this all the time in the iOS app.

You can actually disable this behavior by going to Settings and toggling off the Detect links setting.
