Simplenote app is blank after upgrade to latest version
-
I have two Windows 11 PCs. This morning, I received a popup from Simple Note to upgrade to the latest version, so I proceeded with the upgrade on both machines. However, after the upgrade, both PCs are displaying a blank screen. The application log shows no entries, but from the debug console, I am encountering the following error:
Uncaught Error: Cannot find module ‘./config-local’ at t (app.ce31b8e….js:29:365372) at app.ce31b8e….js:2:152356 at e.exports (app.ce31b8e….js:2:152620) at 98325 (app.ce31b8e….js:29:15179) at i (app.ce31b8e….js:29:373942) at app.ce31b8e….js:29:391858 at app.ce31b8e….js:29:398705 at app.ce31b8e….js:29:398708

I have just upgraded as well, and see the same behaviour and same error message, on windows 10.

Hi there,
In order to help you, can you please share a few more details? We’ll need:
- What devices you use Simplenote on
- The Simplenote version you tested

Hi Frank,
I upgraded to Simplenote version 2.22.0 (because Simplenote requested me to upgrade, so I suppose it was not any of the Beta-versions), and that was on a PC, using Windows 10.

We recently identified an issue with the latest app release (v2.22.0) that caused a blank screen. We’ve taken steps to address this by temporarily removing the release.
In the meantime, you can get back to using Simplenote by manually installing the previous version (v2.21.0) from here: link to v2.21.0 on GitHub.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Our team is working hard to fix the issue and get the improved v2.22.0 version back up and running as soon as possible.
