Simplenote and Grammarly

Grammarly doesn’t work properly with Simplenote. I saw folks complaining about it on Reddit, and somebody replied, suggesting that they post the problem here. I tried both the browser version of Simplenote and the desktop version.

When using the browser version of Simplenote (I used Firefox 129.0 with the Grammarly extension on Windows 11), the Grammarly extension doesn’t load on the website at all. It works well on other sites.

When using the desktop version of Simplenote (v 2.22.1 with Grammarly Desktop v 1.2.90.1459 on Windows 11), the grammar check is carried out, allowing me to fix errors from a separate window. However, Grammarly doesn’t underline the mistakes as it should, and its window constantly disappears, forcing the grammar check to start from scratch. Grammarly Desktop works well with other desktop apps (I tested Microsoft Word and Scrivener).

Hello @maximkarpenko. Thanks for your report. I did research on this and I see that it was an issue in the past, but should have been resolved. It appears it may be happening again.

I’ve now reported your issue to the developers. While we do not have an exact timeline for when the fix will be completed, I can assure you that it’s on our radar. In the event of our engineers needing additional information from you, we will reach out via email.
