Sharing multiple notes
-
I have about 40 notes I would like to share with other Simplenote members. I don’t want to have to share them one by one.
The help topic suggests:
- Open Simplenote and select the notes you want to share by tapping on them.
- Once you’ve selected the notes, tap on the “Action” menu (the ellipsis icon) and choose the “Collaborate” option.
but when I select the notes, there is no Action menu, only a link icon, a pin icon and a Trash icon.
This is on Android.
What am I missing?

That help (is it the AI help?) may be wrong. When you open a note, you can access Collaborate from the (…) menu. I believe there is no option to share multiple notes.

It was from the AI help.
Yeah that’s a big pain if I can’t share multiple at once. I know I can export them so the other members can import them, but I need a way of them having “live” notes.
Oh well.

@it0415917552e8e @johnswift37 Yes, that’s correct. Bulk editing (including sharing multiple notes) is not available at the moment.
Thanks also for flagging the incorrect response by the Simplenote AI Assistant. We have reported this as well.

@javadev2025 this is not a feature we plan to release soon, and there will not be an update for some time on it.

You may want to check out our other app, Day One, which includes a Shared Journal feature, where you can share all entries in a Journal with other Day One users.
