server with problem?
-
If you cannot access simperium.com, your notes are probably not being synced to the server.
-
- Update: Sync started to work again for me today! Yesterday evening it was still reporting connection issues, but as of this morning (8:00 CET) everything syncs again.
- I wonder what happened that fixed the sync? Was there some fix from the Simplenote developers? Or from the maintainers of simperium service? Nothing changed on my side.
- Anyways, thanks for fixing that!
-
Sync is also working for me as of this morning.
But we shall see if it lasts this time. I have little faith left in the reliability of syncing.

Sync worked for me between simplenote.com and the Windows App, but not for the Android App, So I reinstalled it, and now I can’t even login to the Android app… Maybe there’s more than one problem with data sync?

At this moment I cannot access simperium.com. I’m in Indonesia using Indosat HiFi (https://hifi.ioh.co.id/)

After less than 24 hours, sync is broken again.
The most disappointing part is the lack of communication and the unhelpful comments from the support team in this forum.
So after almost ten years of reliable use (I still have notes from 2016), it is time to find a replacement for Simplenote.

- Sync stopped working for me again.
- It was running few hours back, but now it stopped again. Same symptoms as before. Simperium unreachable, ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT.
- I know this a free service so I shouldn’t complain too much, but I am still frustrated cause I was using SN for years and it worked flawlessly. Considering switching to some other app now.

My sync stopped working this afternoon in Texas usa, it just spins. Windows 10 laptop via software and my android phone with the app. Also logging in via browser to https://app.simplenote.com/ shows no notes at all, NONE. It seems Simplenote isn’t reliable anymore given the number of similar posts I see with no solution other than try a vpn for a few. Searching for new check/list solutions.

I’m in the US. Suddenly today Simplenote on Windows 10 just stopped syncing today (1/30/2025). I changed 2 notes and all three are just sitting there spinning and when i exit i get warnings about not being able to sync. when i check the web app, i can see that the changes were never pushed to the server. making a change to a different note on the web app causes the same syncing problem. i changed a third note on the Windows 10 app and now it too has the synching icon next to it and it won’t sync. I’m still using 2.22.1 because the latest version broke indentation on the windows client. I updated to the latest, but that didn’t help.
So basically…. The web app and Windows 10 client are both not syncing. No VPN. Excellent internet connection. I’m pretty confident that the server is having problems. -
@ph0t0nx. It sounds like you were able to see your notes in the web app, so you were able to access the server at simperium.com. But changes in both the web app and Windows app could not be pushed to the server. Are you behind any sort of firewall that could prevent uploading to an internet site? Could you try connecting through a VPN, to see if it makes a difference?
I use the iOS and web apps and have never seen any delay in syncing, so I do not believe that the server is having problems. There are certainly problems, but they are at the user devices or their internet connections.

Yesterday (1/29/2025) the web version and Windows could not sync individual notes even after hours of being online with a good internet connection in the US.
This morning (one day later) I opened SimpleNote and it was still showing the spinning sync icons for the notes I had changed.
Then I tested Android and it was able to sync.
Then I modified the three notes in Windows that weren’t syncing. I just added a space. It suddenly started syncing. I did the same for the web app and it synced too. So whatever was going on yesterday, it is now fixed today!!

Using a phone connection hotspot makes it work again, although it’s a bit of a trick thing to be doing all the time.
