server with problem?

Good evening, I’m from Brazil, I used Simplenote very well since yesterday it’s not synchronizing with the server and when logging into the website it doesn’t load my notes. Do we have a problem with the server?

  • Unknown's avatar

Same here. I’m from Brazil and can’t sync notes or login on the Windows app since yesterday. When I log on the browser, all my notes are gone.

    What’s going on?

Hi. Are you able to access simperium.com? Try entering simperium.com in a web browser. If you cannot access simperium.com, you will not be able to access your notes.

I can’t access simperium.com from Brazil. Tried accessing it with Pronton VPN turned on and it worked.

  • Unknown's avatar

Simperium.com returns an ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT message when I try accessing it.

Thanks. I believe that your provider’s name server (DNS) is missing the simperium.com domain. I don’t know why, or how to fix it.

I don’t think it’s a DNS problem. I use the same provider in my office and at home and I was able to access Simplenote last night. This issue only appears in my office.

same issue here from the philippines

One more for Brazil here, same problem.

Simperium is a data synchronization infrastructure used by Simplenote. It is responsible for managing real-time synchronization across devices, including notes, changes, and updates. When you use Simplenote, the backend service that handles synchronization and cloud storage of notes relies on Simperium’s technology.

Therefore, if there is any issue with the domain or servers of simperium.com, it may affect the synchronization of app.simplenote.com, leading to error messages like the one you encountered.

If accessing https://simperium.com is unavailable, try connecting to a VPN and attempting again. Once the connection is established, your notes should appear on https://app.simplenote.com.

I have tested this on two different occasions with an EU-based VPN, and sync still does not work consistently. I was able to sync on Sunday through my normal network, but the service has been unavailable for the whole of Monday.

I appreciate that Simplenote has been a useful and free service for me personally, but there is clearly a bigger problem than asking users to test their network connection.

    1. I am in the EU and Simplenote stopped syncing for me yesterday evening
    2. I cannot access simperium.com (browser returns ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT)
    3. Been using Simplenote for 3 years now, and it worked like a charm, but this is a second server connection issue, following the one from last week.
    4. I understand that I am using a free service so don’t wanna complain too much. Developers and maintainers did a great job overall with the app, and I want to thank them for the past years it worked without a problem.

Same thing here. My SimpleNote won’t sync. The worst part is that I don’t know when the problem started and I don’t know what will happen when and if it starts working again. Will there be a version conflict? I have important things there. I live in Brazil

    For the guys from Brazil:

Salve rapaziada!

Hi. This is good advice, but I have one little correction. simperium.com is operated by Automattic, the same company that provides Simplenote. But it does seem like some internet providers cannot access simperium.com, some of the time, while others have no problem.

    1. I think that the connection issues are caused by something that happened fairly recently as I have been using Simplenote without any problems literally for years.
    2. Then there were some problems last week or a week before that, which were fixed in a few hours. And then, problems came back yesterday for me. But before those, SN synced without problems for years for me.

Esse é o problema de usar serviço gratuito, eles simplesmente deixam as pessoas na mão, não dão nenhuma satisfação, bora migrar para outro serviço

I just tried to access Simplenote and Simperium.com from my office using Proton VPN connected to the Netherlands (free tier) and I had no luck. Simplenote app on Windows and on browser does not work and I can’t access Simperium (ERR_CONNECTION_RESET).

I’ll try later at home to see if it still works there.

I just found out that the VPN trick works if it’s connected to the US.

Simplenote still works at home, although I can’t access simperium.com. I use the same internet provider on both places (home and office).
