Server connection
-
Hello! I’m trying to sync my notes from my computer to my app (iOS), but it’s not syncing. Any changes I do in both sides are not being reflected. The web app says there’s no server connection. I tried to open the web app in another browser and I’m able to log in but my notes list appears empty.

Try to access simperium.com in a browser. That’s where the Simplenote file server is. If you cannot reach it, you will not be able to sync.
Could you please let us know your country, so we can see if this is a regional problem?

The same is happening to me. I’m from Brazil. On Android and iOS it works perfectly. However, on Windows APP and in Web Browser, it no longer syncs or connects to the server. I almost cried thinking about losing my data. Simplenote is the best app ever.

@tiagosvitor Glad to hear it worked for you! Thanks for your kind words!
@pillbet @javaravenac If you still have issues with sync or server connection, please let us know so we can follow up with you. Thank you.

Same issue today, and a few days ago server connection was not available too.
kinda frustrating now hoping that one day is working and the next it doesn’t.
problem is on the web
-
@javaravenac Are you still having the issue? If so, are you running a VPN or some kind of firewall that might interrupt your network connection?
-
I have the same issue. Couldn’t sync my Windows desktop app for a week. Then it worked for the next week. But as of today it doesn’t work again. What gives?
I am in Malaysia and when I try to access https://simperium.com/ it won’t work. Also I am not on any VPN.

@bruce4526 During these weeks, are you always connected to the same network connection? If so, can you test it over several different internet connections?
Please test on mobile data, Wi-Fi at home, or Wi-Fi at a place like a cafe or a library where possible. Thank you.

I have the same problem since yesterday, I can see my notes when I enter the same wifi on my phone, but I cannot see them on the web, I do not use any vpn and I do not think there is a problem with my internet connection.

Hi @whatsappucundir,
Could you try the following to see if it helps?
- Check for automated requests. If any script, extension, or software is making repeated requests to our servers, it could trigger a temporary block.
- If possible, test from a different Wi-Fi or mobile network to confirm the issue is IP-related.
-
The problem is with your certificates
HTTPS not available
Please fix ASAP
Thanks
-
How is it that your store our personal data in a server without security?
Please explain, maybe I am wrong but this is serious.
-
Hi @pedagogia,
I’ve just checked, and my browser shows that the certificate is valid for https://simperium.com/.
It’s possible that you experienced a temporary issue with your connection or browser. Sometimes, browser caches or temporary network problems can cause certificate errors.
Could you please try the following to see if it resolves the issue on your end?
- Clear your browser’s cache and cookies.
- Try a different browser.
- Restart your browser.
If you continue to see a certificate error after trying these steps, please let us know:
- Which browser and version are you using?
- What is the exact error message you are seeing?
-
Hi. I use updated Firefox for Windows 10. Set to only accept https connection.
The error is what I said. I had to accept the insecure http
what browser do you use with what settings?
thanks
