Search for a phrase?

I’m sure this is simple but I’m missing it : how would I search for a phrase in simple note?
For example, I have a note that lists ‘key people’ and I ‘d like to jsut find that note. I’ve tried typing “key people” (inc the “” marks) but that doesnt seem to work?

If I type key people, it brings upnotes that contain: monkey, key, people??

Yeah. I’m afraid that’s all there is. It seems to be a fairly common limitation of modern search tools.

  • @toomanybarts Can you please let us know on which platform (iOS, Android, Web, etc.) did you have this issue?

If you haven’t yet, can you please try doing the same search on the web app https://app.simplenote.com/?

Does it return the correct result or the same with what you reported here?

    Hi Fred,

just as a test I tried searching “- [ ]” in the web app and it worked beautifully – on the Mac app it failed to detect anything.

    best wishes,

    Andrew

Thank you for testing that out, Andrew! We’ll certainly take note of it.

Just to clarify, we’re aware of an issue where different platforms might produce different results for the same phrase or keyword. We’re investigating this issue, and I’ll be sure to include your report in our findings.

Thanks again for bringing this to our attention!

I came to the support forum with the same question, so let me plus one this request. I use Simplenote mostly on iOS and would love to be able to search for, for example, the phrase “eye of the storm” and not get dozens of notes that each of those words in them.
