    Hello SimpleNote Community,

I hope this message finds you well. My name is Sofia Karaiskou, and I am an undergraduate student at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. As part of my coursework in Software Engineering, I am tasked with creating a Software Requirements Specification (SRS) document for an open-source project, and I have chosen SimpleNote.

The purpose of this document is to analyze the functional and non-functional requirements of the application. To ensure that I cover all relevant aspects and provide accurate information, I would greatly appreciate any guidance, resources, or feedback you could offer regarding the core features, design decisions, or known requirements of the SimpleNote project.

Specifically, I would be grateful for:

    • Information or existing documentation that describes the core system features and user requirements.
    • Any specific standards or templates that the SimpleNote project follows for its requirements documentation.

Thank you in advance for your help and support. Your assistance will be instrumental in the successful completion of my project.

    Best regards,

    Sofia Karaiskou

Hi. You may need to do some reverse engineering, since Simplenote is a very old project, going back to 2009. I guess you’ve found the various repositories on GitHub. Just Google “github simplenote” if not. You can also check out the blog, https://simplenote.com/blog/, and the help document, https://simplenote.com/help/. (Don’t trust the robot assistant; it imagines things.)
