    Hello, Simplenote developers,

I’m a user from China and I’ve recently discovered your product through ChatGPT. I find it very excellent and convenient, but I’ve encountered some issues that I hope you can optimize and improve:

    1. When I downloaded the app on my phone and set a password, it worked fine. However, when I opened it on my Windows computer, I found that I could access my notes without entering the password. I hope that when I set a password on either my phone or computer, it will synchronize the password verification to my account. This way, I can lock the software on my computer from my phone to prevent privacy leaks.
    2. I noticed that there is no password verification feature on the Mac version. I’m not sure if I missed the configuration for it.
    3. I would like to suggest adding a “Privacy Space” or requiring a 6~8 character password to access individual notes. This would enhance the security of the notes. Alternatively, you could implement a feature where certain documents are “uneditable” until a password is entered.
    4. As a seasoned software developer myself, I understand the costs involved in development, especially concerning server expenses. However, I believe that optimizing the software and ensuring user confidence should be the primary goal for us as software developers.

    Thank you.

Hello @648464608wl. Thanks for choosing Day One! We are glad you found us.

I hope that when I set a password on either my phone or computer, it will synchronize the password verification to my account. The app-locking passcode is currently device specific.

We’d be happy to pass along your requests for future consideration.
