Regarding creating notes

Is it possible to creates notes with sub-divisions ?
Currently i can able to create only individual note but not categorize notes under each division
example,
create java notes menu or folder or notes –> add all java notes under it
is it possible to add tags for a note ?
not sure how to categorize notes -> java, spring, hibernate, stories, etc.,
please advise

Hi. Have you tried the Simplenote tags system? Scroll to the bottom of a note and you can add one or more tags; they’re just strings. Once you’ve created a tag, it will be offered as an autocomplete when tagging another note. The tags appear in the sidebar of the app or web application, and you can view a list of all notes bearing the tag. I use this a lot, and it’s really convenient.

- so how to search for a text with a particular tag ?
- i want to filter down the search text with a specific tag

You can use search box to type your tag to filter through all notes with that tag. If you’re not sure where to find the search please let me know which device or browser you use Simplenote on and I can share a screenshot with you of where to look.

To clarify, the tags identify individual notes, not text sections within a note. The sidebar lists all the tags. Tapping on one of them displays a list of all notes having that tag, for example “java” notes. They’re sort of like folders, but an document can be in multiple “folders” at once. You can also search for tags, as already described.
But, you can search all your documents for any string. So you could invent a system of unique strings, and incorporate them into paragraphs on a given topic. For example, xxfred and xxbob are probably unique, and could be used to mark info on “fred” or “bob”. Search would find all of ’em in a jiffy.

I’ve been using it for several years now. I want to thank you for this decision.
I’ll share what is sorely missing:- based on the system for classifying notes by tags, create a second classification system as “folders” or “notebooks”
- how can I import with tags (so that the tags are already on the imported note. Now I manually add the desired tags to each new imported note)
