Problems with searching

I keep some long lists on Simplenote and searching for one item has become a big pain. If I search for a word, Simplenote simply tells me what note contains that word, then it highlights the word but it’s up to me to scroll up and down the note to find the highlighted word. The problem is compounded because the search used only a few few letters of the search term, ie Searching for Man will cause ever appearance of ‘Manhattan’ to be highlighted. Even putting the search term in quotation marks doesn’t help. I need a search like CTL-F. Is there a a better way to search in Simplenote or is there another note app with a better search? TIA

Hi. You’re right, it is a pain. But when you open a note with search results, small blue marks appear on the right hand side. These show the relative positions of the word in the note. Tap on one of them to scroll to the word. Easy.

Not much can be done about searching for non-unique strings, unfortunately. The search method is not very sophisticated.

I’ve run into the same issue with Simplenote. Unfortunately, its search functionality is pretty basic, and there’s no way to refine it like you would with a full CTL-F search. For a more powerful search, you might want to try Notion or Evernote. Both offer advanced search features, including the ability to search within a note and find exact terms. If you still prefer something simple but with a better search, Google Keep has an effective search tool that highlights specific keywords without the hassle. Hope that helps!

I tried Google Docs and found that it had everything I wanted at no cost: the formatting, search and quick access.
