Pressing the “End” key on Linux doesn’t go to the end of the line

  • (Moving the discussion to the forums for the benefit of other users)

When I click the End key the cursor goes to the beginning of the next line.
I think it should go to the end of the current line.

    Is that right?

I’m using Linux Mint but this happened on Ubuntu too.

I’m using Simplenote on Linux Mint 20.3 Cinnamon, kernel 5.15.0-69-generic.
    Simplenote 2.21.0

I couldn’t reproduce this issue on Ubuntu 20.04, Simplenote version 2.21.0. When I pressed the “End” key, the cursor moved to the end of the current line.

If you’re using an external keyboard, we recommend testing it with another keyboard to see if it works as expected. Some apps customize the key functions, so you might want to check if your device has settings that change the default function of the “End” key too.

  • Update: we reproduced this behavior on Linux, Windows, and the web app, when the text wrapped into a few lines. We’re looking into this and will update this thread when we have info to share.

  • Hi @arkanesky, I’m moving the conversation from this duplicate topic to this thread since they’re referring to the same issue.

Can you please let us know the OS and app version you’re using? Thanks!

    Thanks, Romina! No prob.

Windows 10, Simplenote desktop app version 2.21.0

  • Thanks, @arkanesky! I created a bug report on GitHub and shared the details there. Our developers will look into it, but we don’t have a timeline for a fix, though.

I’m closing this thread for now, but if you have any other questions or feedback, feel free to create a new topic again. Thank you!
