Paste function not working in standalone software in Windows 10
-
Steps to reproduce the problem:
Steps:
1. Copy any text from anywhere, webpage, word doc,…
2. Mouse right submenu to paste the copied text to Simplenote
3. Nothing shows up in Simplenote
Simplenote version 2.23.2
Windows 10 Pro 22H2 OS Build 19045.6332

OK. Provided there is text in the copy buffer (I used ctrl-C on a web page), I was able to paste it into Simplenote 2.23.2 using either ctrl-V or Edit, Paste from the top menu. But it did not work from the right-click pop-up menu, similar to your experience. So there may be a bug in that implementation. I’m on Win 11, current update, but I doubt that makes any difference. See if you can get it to work just using ctrl-C and ctrl-V to copy and paste.
I believe this was also mentioned in the long discussion on pasting in the web app. That’s not surprising, since they both use the Electron implementation of Simplenote.

It seems like ctrl-V only works in the Simplenote web app (Windows Firefox), if it is shift-ctrl-V. You might also try that in the Simplenote Windows app.

Cut and Paste (CTRL-C, CTRL-V) do not work for me, either.
Using Simplenote Web App (logged in) on Firefox 143.0.01 (64-bit) under Windows 10.
This seems to work in Chrome, but it’s a pain to switch browser just for one web-app. I tried this in Firefox Troubleshoot Mode (which turns off all extensions). It doesn’t work for that, either. So I suspect your code has a conflict with a recent update to Firefox …
Thank you for your attention to this matter (😉).

Have you tried shift-ctrl-V in Windows Firefox, as I suggested above? That worked for me.

Thank you *so* much – SHIFT-CTRL-V works!
Apologies for being so obtuse. I came to this thread via a Simplenote forum search, which appears not to have displayed the whole of the thread properly (I saw lots of posts about someone being a spam poster …). Anyway – it was sheer incompetence (or at least unfamiliarity with the forum which is equally culpable (😊).
Thanks for all that you guys do. It’s appreciated.

Thanks for sharing that, @johnswift37!
Glad to hear that the problem has been resolved, @sgassonsfa :)
