Option to remove automatic dashes on bulleted lists?

    Hello!

I’ve been using Simplenote for probably a decade, and really love it. However, one recent change has really made writing in the app worse for me on OSX.

When writing a dashed list, when pressing newline, another dash will automatically appear on the next line. I can see why some people might like this, but for me it is very frustrating. I won’t expect it, and that means I usually habitually type dashes again ending up with a list that looks like this:

    • item a
      • – item b
        • – item c, etc

What’s the big deal? Why not just press enter twice to get right of it? That’s confusing in its own right, especially if you want, you know, two lines before your next thing.

I use that moment at the start of the line to start thinking about what I want to type. That moment is to decide whether there should be another listitem or not. This “convenience” of making a list item for you whether desired or not is no “convenience” at all.

Please make it optional! Thank you!

Thanks for taking the time to explain why you’d like this to be optional. I can see why it’s annoying as is to you currently. I’ve shared your words with our team for further consideration on how we can improve the app.
