Notes that will not sync?
-
I have a couple of notes that will not sync to the cloud or other devices. Simplenote 2.21.0.0 is the version installed on Windows 11.
Is it possible that I have reached a character limit size restriction?

Hi. That’s possible, but unlikely. They might have some characters that are unacceptable, somehow. You might try copy/pasting the text into a new note, and see if that works better.

Thanks for the response.
Done and am experiencing the same behavior with the “cloned” note. No special characters in the note/s that I can see.

How big are we talking here? You can use the (i) icon to find the number of characters. I have a lot of notes, the largest being over 40 K characters, and have never had any trouble with syncing.

Hm. So, this note is tiny in real terms. Strange that it would not be synced. And especially that a new note with the same content would not sync either. I’m just a user, so I’ve no idea how the sync algorithm works; files, changes, dates, device identifiers all play a part. One thing I know is that each note is its own file; the note title is just the first line of the file, and you can create multiple notes with the same title.

Hello @artbraune,
If you’re seeing this happen on the Windows app, could we have you try copying that note again and creating that note at app.simplenote.com?
Do you see the same sync issue there?

The same note successfully worked on app.simplenote.com and then replicated to both my Windows app and Android app instances.
