    Notes not syncing from android to PC/web, but it syncs normally from web/PC to android

  • Hi @mohamedtarekosman244,

    Can you try logging in to the Simplenote web app from within a web browser at https://app.simplenote.com/?

    Then, please check the notes from there to see if they are all correct and up to date.

    If they are, you can safely log out and log back in to the Simplenote app on all your devices. When you log in again, all of the notes that are stored on the Simplenote service will be re-synced and that should resolve any syncing issues going forward.

    If you aren’t seeing the correct notes in the web app or another Simplenote app, please let us know and we can continue troubleshooting from there. Please let us know:

    • What devices you use Simplenote on
    • Their operating systems and versions
    • The Simplenote versions on each

    Hello, i have the same problem on Android Device (Samsung A54 Android 14 OneUI 6.0, 2.31(164).

    Notes ftom web and iOS devices syncs well. And i see them on Android. But all changes made on Android dont sync back to Web or Another Devices

    IPad <> Web Both directions ok

    IPhone <> Web Both directions ok

    Samsung A54 Android 14 OneUI 6.0, 2.31(164) <> Web Only reads from web. Before logouting from app on android saus it have unsynced notes.

    1. Logouted from all devices
    2. Login in web
    3. login on Samsung A54 Android 14 OneUI 6.0, 2.31(164)
    4. Same problem Samsung Only reads from web. Not syncing back

  • Thanks for that additional information, @mproskurnya! Does the sync issue only affect old notes from your Android app?

    For instance, if you try to create a new note from the Android app, does it sync to the web app?

    Could this be another problem related to Samsung’s modified Android OS?

    We just released an update to the Android app. Please update Simplenote to version 2.32 on the Play Store.

    Let us know if the issue persists after updating the app.

  • That’s strange. I edited a note on my Samsung Galaxy S23 (Android 14, OneUI 6.1) and can see the changes immediately on the web app.

    I see you still have OneUI 6.0. Are you able to update that to 6.1?

    Also, have you tried using a different internet connection? For example, if you’re on WiFi, switch to Data or vice versa.

    Last available OneUI for A54 is 6.0 (firmware A546EXXS7BXD4 published on 2024-04-01).

    Switching wifi and Data doesnt work. Same behaviour.

    That’s good to know it’s the same behavior on all networks. Do you have a VPN or ad-blocker active on the Samsung that could be impacting how Simplenote is able to communicate with our servers? It would be a good idea to try temporarily disabling it to see if that helps.

    I also recommend you give the Web App a try on your Samsung to see it preforms similarly to the Android App on the same device to see if it’s an app issue, or something in your connection to our servers.

    Finally, I also recommend you double check you’re logged in with the same email on all devices or browsers you’re using. It can be too easy to be accidentally logged into 2 accounts and not notices it.

    1. VPN and adblocker is off.
    2. Opened app.simplenote.com via chrome on Samsung. Same behavior, i see all changes in real time from other devices on my Samsung but then i try to create new note i see looping syncing icon for that note.
    3. Sure. i see my notes.

    Hello.

    OneUI 6.1 released and i have installed it.

    1. Opened app.simplenote.com via chrome on Samsung. Works!
    2. Android app still doesn’t work. Tried with logout. I see all notes but can’t create new ones and edit.
  • @mproskurnya I’m happy to hear the web app in Chrome works for you!

    In some rare cases, location can affect how apps connect to servers. Would you be comfortable sharing your location to help us investigate further?

    1. web app in chrome stopped working :(
    2. log out button doesnt work (nothing happens on press)
    3. location is the same as sessions from iphone (where syncing works fine). I’ve turned on shared analytics via app.
  • @mproskurnya our developers would like to know where you are located, e.g. city and country. Let us know so they can investigate further.
