note text cut off at right margin

hi, I’ve been experiencing a problem for a while now where the text of my notes is sometimes cut off at the right margin of the window. the text itself is not altered, but about one half of a character is not visible. I’ve attached a screenshot where two letters are cut off—the “A” at the end of “Y/DSA” and the “y” at the end of “qualitatively.” any advice? I use Simplenote on Mac, v2.17.

This is a bug that occurs when scroll bars are set to always show in macOS’ System Preferences > General. I’ve gone ahead and added this case to the existing bug report.
I’m not able to offer an estimated timeframe for a fix, but there are a few workarounds to avoid the issue:
- Change your system’s settings to show scroll bars “When Scrolling” or “Automatically based on mouse or trackpad”.
- Try using the Simplenote web app within a web browser.
- Or try using the Electron version of the Simplenote app, which you can find downloads for on GitHub.
Since this is a known issue, though, I’ll go ahead and mark this thread as solved. You can feel free to track the progress of the bug on GitHub, though.

I decided to leave Simplenote to Apple Mail. I’m tired. The simplest mistake that no one is going to correct from 2021. And this is not the only mistake that pisses me off.
