Note opening mode and more
-
Hello, I’m suffering without an option to open notes in preview instead of opening in edit. What can I do about it?
Also I used to add # to notes first line, now the # is showing in the notes list and that’s isn’t logical since the # isn’t part of the note title, it’s a markdown symbol.
Also can you make an alternating row colors note list.
Thanks

also in preview mode the body font isn’t cool since it’s using Serif font. Let’s use Sans Serif fonts.

Hi there,
Thanks so much for reaching out. It sounds like you may be using the Android version of Simplenote, is that right?
When you click on a note from the note list it should open in the last mode that you had it open in. For example if you open a note, click to preview mode, then back out of the note, the next time you open that note it should be in preview. Is that not happening for you?
The markdown characters showing in the note list is a known issue for Android. We do have a report open for our developers to take a look at this and address it at some point. We don’t have a timeline though on when that will be.
For the font type in Preview we have had people previously request a Sans-serif font for this, I will add your request to that as well as we do track things like this for future consideration.
Regarding having a way to quickly tell the next note the note list I am going to open an issue for that with our developers. With other platforms, like on the web https://app.simplenote.com/ we do show a line between notes. The same as the markdown characters issue above we can’t say when this will be addressed though.
Thank you again for reaching out!

Same for me on Android: notes always open up in edit mode.
Thank you for your feedback on this. I’ve gone ahead and added your comment to our existing feature request for this option.
