Minor UX Issue in Simplenote Checkbox Interaction

    Hi Simplenote Team,

I noticed a minor UX issue in Simplenote. When hovering over the checkbox in a note, the mouse pointer doesn’t change to indicate it’s clickable, even though the ticking/unticking functionality works correctly.

This could cause slight confusion for users, as the lack of hover feedback does not indicate interactivity.

Here are some details of browser and device where I experienced the issue:

    • Browser details: Google Chrome 131.0.6778.86
    • Device model: Acer Aspire E1-571

    Troubleshooting steps

    1. Open https://app.simplenote.com/ and login
    2. Insert a checkbox by clicking on ‘Insert Checklist’ icon on top right
    3. Hover over the checkbox and check if the mouse pointer changes from text cursor to link cursor.

Here’s a screen recording to see the issue: https://youtu.be/smMSi6qWAyA

Just thought I’d bring this to your attention. Please let me know if you need further details.

    Best regards

  • Thank you for your feedback on this! I’ll be sure to forward this along to our team!
