Lost Note – not in Trash and no History
-
I just lost a Note. I was trying to paste new text into an existing note on iOS. I was having trouble locating the cursor where I wanted it and apparently I had selected all the text in the note without being aware of it. When I pasted the text I planned to add, it became the only text in the note.
Everything else was gone.
Nothing relevant in Trash. Couldn’t find a way to access History in iOS. Logged into my account via browser on Windows and can find nothing relevant, including no History.
I do have a backup but will it duplicate ALL my notes (I have many hundreds having been an early adopter) in order to recover just this one?!

Hi. If you unzip the backup, you’ll find a folder with each note as a txt file. You can find the one you lost and copy the text back.

@johnswift37 Thanks for sharing the tip!
@lindarust4af40b3be8 You should also be able to access the History in the Simplenote iOS app by opening the note, then tap on the three dots on the top right to see more actions. History should be listed as one of them.
@adelgmre I see you’ve already get in touch with us via email. Thank you.
