LOST ALL MY NOTES!!!

    I sent an email to (email visible only to moderators and staff) and received an automated reply that I needed to post in here (and exclude any sensitive information). Someone from Support will contact me. So here goes.

    I’ve been using Simplenote.com for years to keep my notes. It is (was) under the email address: p*******r@c******t.  My new email address is p********r@w*******m both email addresses still work (old forwards to new).

    Yesterday, I wanted to change the email address to something more universal and picked my Gmail account: c********(email visible only to moderators and staff)

    The change took place (or so I thought) and I kept the same password since it wasn’t necessary to change it.

    But then I could not log in with the new email address and the original password.  It said it didn’t exist.  I then tried logging on with the old (original) email address p*******r@c******t and it also did not want to work. Something about too many attempts and to wait awhile.

    This morning, I tried logging on again with both email addresses and it still failed. I noticed this time that the new address would not work, and the old address would work, but would immediately log me back out.  

    I found a forum post that explains exactly what is happening and a few other folks had the same issue.

    The staff member stated they closed this forum post and stated that someone would contact each of those people individually via email to help them solve the problem.

    I can’t post to that one and decided to create a new post.

    I then decided to try creating a wordpress.com account and used the same email address and a new password.  This allowed me to log on, but all my notes are missing now.  

    I have also tried again with the old email address and old  (original) password and using that method, I just get a blank screen.  No notes, no nothing.

    Please help. I have 5+ years of notes…

    Seriously, changing the email address on an account should NOT wipe all the notes!.

    This is still an issue. I lost my notes, there is no way to export what doesn’t exist. All I did was change my email address and all notes completely gone. Please @staff-romina and @staff-mobilefox can you help??
