Lost a year of notes after moving to a new phone

    Hello,

    I have a problem extremely similar to the one in https://forums.simplenote.com/forums/topic/all-notes-since-june-2022-have-dissapeared/ .

    I have recently moved to a new phone and in the process I reset my password. When I logged to a new phone, I discovered that only notes up to middle of 2022 have synced; moreover, when I logged in again on the old phone, all the notes after that date have disappeared! I have checked the trash and the revision history of the remaining notes, nothing from 2023 seems to survive. What should I do?

    I really hope that the notes can be recovered! The fact that the linked topic is marked as resolved gives me hope.

    If you set the new phone up from a backup, try deleting Simplenote and its data, then re-add the app.

    Sorry that you lost some of your notes after switching to a new phone. Before trying out @johnswift37’s suggestion, I recommend double-checking your notes on the web app at https://app.simplenote.com.

    Please check also the Trash and note revision history on the web app if you haven’t done so.

    Thank you for your suggestions, but I’ve tried all those things and they don’t show anything more recent than the middle of 2022. I’ve checked the web app, the trash, the note revision history for notes (including the ones created long ago but modified recently: only updates from 2022 are shown). Is there anything else I can do?

    As I’ve said, the symptoms look very similar to the topic I’ve linked at the beginning. That thread is marked as solved, but it does not explain the solution. Maybe something similar would work for my case as well? I really want to restore the note contents…
