Login is required more frequently on web
-
Recently, I am asked to login to simplenote more often, almost every day I think.
It shows a captcha with images, like select the cars, at each login.
Is this a new requirement? Is there a setting where I can reduce frequency of needing to do the captcha?

+1 I’m experiencing this now and it is enough of a slow-down that I’m likely to look for another solution. Adding my voice here because I’d like to stay on simplenote.

If you use one of the Simplenote device-specific apps, you only need to login once. There are apps for Windows, Mac, Android, iOS, and maybe Linux. They all share the same cloud data as the Web app.

Above is a good suggestion for some. My workflow is using all of my tools in one browser window so I do not use native apps. Mobile is no problem but I need a tool that works across both. It needs to be simple AND fast. This tool just doesn’t meet those requirements anymore. It will be a small pain to switch, but seriously it will take less time to move to a new platform than it will to log into Simplenote a couple of times.

Anyone want to address this?
This is pretty annoying. I am met with a dozen captcha’s before it lets me sign in.
If this isn’t fixed,i’m leaving simplenote. This is silly.

@sigmonsays. It must be something on your end. I just logged in successfully to the Simplenote Web App with two different browsers. The first (iPadOS 17.4.1 Safari) required a captcha, but only one. Look for anything in your browser settings that might cause a problem for cookies. Recently, I had to allow Popups and Cross-Platform Tracking in Safari, in order to access an unrelated service.

It’s definitely requiring login much, much more frequently on the web. It is becoming an issue, particularly the captchas. Please allow web to prompt much less often.

You should not require a captcha just to log in. It’s really annoying. And the login cookie should last at least 3 months.

Thanks all for the feedback. We’ll make sure to note the issue with logging in, particularly with captcha. We’re looking to improve it.

Adding my voice too for this issue! Love the simple note and want to stay with simple note

@rhemamail1990 Thanks for chiming in! I’ve let the developers know you’re experiencing an issue with logging in as well.

Solution for me, using Windows 11 and Firefox browser:
1) Go to app.simplenote.com
2) Click on shield icon on the left side of the URL adress bar
3) Turn off “Enhanced Tracking Protection”Hope this helps others too.
