Lines duplicated when typing

Halfway through typing, existing text will be duplicated and randomly added to the current paragraph.
2023-08-06 21:11:34.968 - ACTION: Edited note (ID: 58b113481f4d467585d1a003d9cb6d12 / Title: Notes / Characters: 326,589 / Words: 59,200)it ends up syncing an edit of a lot of characters.
It didn’t use to have this issue and it only started recently.
i am using version 2.27 (159) android.
i saw an old report https://github.com/Automattic/simplenote-android/issues/596 that looks like a similar behavior but it was posted in 2018 and seems resolved.
side note: using Google keyboard and dun have this issue typing long text on other applications. It is not auto correct. Whole bunch of words are duplicated and copied a few hundred times.
Please help, the app is unusable in this state :”(

Hi there! Thanks for reporting the issue!
The Simplenote servers are having some performance issues. This impacts sync, which is why characters are duplicated in the app. The team is still investigating and working hard to restore the service.
