Line breaks are inserted when paste

  Line breaks are inserted at the top and bottom of pasted text when pasting text on iPhone Simplenote.

  one
  two

  After paste:

  one
  
  paste
  
  two

  Expected:

  one
  paste
  two

  You may have accidentally included the invisible line breaks in the selection. How does it work if you limit the selection to only the words to be copied? That’s what I’d do, then open a line and paste the text onto the new blank line.

  It might depend on your keyboard. Which keyboard are you using: iOS built-in, Gboard, Typefinity, bluetooth?

  I’m on iPad 6, iPadOS 16.4.1, with Typefinity 2.0.

  If I copied a word without line break, space is inserted.

  If empty line or space was already inserted, new empty line or space is not inserted.

  The cause of that issue seems to be due to nonfunctional auto-correct feature.

  The issue is resolved by disabling iOS smart punctuaion setting!
