Issue: search not working on iOS when query contains special characters
-
On iOS, when searching for keywords containing special characters (eg.: “#meeting“, “%meeting”, “2024-04-12”, etc.) the app is not able to locate the result into the notes.
It is able to find notes containing the keywords, but once opened the resulting note, it doesn’t identify the text itself into the note and it shows “0 Results”. -
I can confirm this. Exactly as described. The internal document search must use a different algorithm. Annoying.

This has been reported to our developers. It will likely take some time to address this particular issue, which unfortunately I don’t have an exact timeframe on.
Thanks for your patience and understanding in the meantime!

Thanks for your reply. I understand it may take some time, could please update your answer with an ETA when available though? I could’t find any other way of keeping track of issues to be solved or a roadmap…

@luconiemanuele We have an open issue for search terms containing multiple character types. Please note that the developer reports are typically addressed on severity, so an immediate fix is unlikely.
However, if you have any further questions or suggestions, we recommend continuing your discussion directly on the GitHub issue here:

… and give a +1 for developers’ consideration.
