Is this normal? (iOS)

Just making sure this is how the app normally functions on iOS.
When I tap beyond the end of a line, it does not place the cursor there. Instead, the cursor goes to the beginning of the line, or doesn’t register at all.
Also, it’s impossible to tap onto a blank line. You must tap the cursor at the beginning of a line of text that is below the blank lines, and then backspace into the blank lines. Similarly, it’s impossible to hold the space bar to navigate the cursor to these blank lines.

Hi @cph353. That’s how the keyboard functions on iOS. If you temporarily drop the keyboard (down arrow at the right), you can position the cursor very precisely with a finger tap. The Simplenote app has no control over this; it is functionality provided by Apple. I use the Typefinity keyboard on my iPad, which has the same limitations, but provides cursor left/right arrow keys (<>) which compensate for most of it.

Thanks for the reply @johnswift37. Ok, interesting. I’ve been using the iOS Notes app, and it has neither of these issues. So maybe it’s something else? Either way, I’m very disappointed. This seemed like the perfect replacement for Notes. But to not be able to simply continue a line of text, or to click a blank line to add text, is a deal breaker for me. Do you have any recommendations for simple notes apps that sync across devices?
