iOS app so slow

  When I open a note on iOS it takes about 5 seconds before I can edit the note.
  Is this because the note is too long?
  Because I have too much data in Simplenote in general?

  How many characters is the note? Check the (i) while viewing it. Maybe the phone is clogged with other apps that need to be cleared, especially browsers, videos, etc.

  Many of my most used notes are logs and get very long.

  Just now I checked one: 32,000 characters.
  It took longer to be able to edit than a shorter note of 4k (though it didnt take the 5 long seconds it can take at certain times).

  Is there some upward limit of characters per note that we should expect fo the app to handle?
  Since it’s just plain text I wouldn’t’ve expected that.

  32K is not very long; 1 MB might be. I do suspect your problem is due to other apps needing to be moved out of memory to make room for the Simplenote app. See if it works better if you force-quit some of them.
