I wish there was an explicit Save button
-
I am using Simplenote on an Android phone. I love everything about it except one thing.
It is very disconcerting when I accidentally make an unwanted change, such as erasing a word or words, and it automatically saves it. I wish you would add a feature where one has to click on a button to explicitly save it. Currently, it will automatically save it, errors and all, and synch it immediately. And, there is no undo or history feature, either.

The Undo function is not a feature of the Android app. You have to undo changes using the History feature. To view history, tap ⋮ in the top right corner, then select History.
I went ahead and added your comments to our feature request list. Our developers consider features for every release based on the number of requests we receive for that feature. Thanks for the feedback!

Yes, though I love SN, I detest the fact that it has no Undo feature and automatically saves text, errors and all. These two problems combined make it worthwhile considering other apps. The Windows version has the same issue – so, it not just the Android app. And, the above was posted in May last year but nothing has been done to move the needle. :-(

Thanks for the feedback @musicollector8cf7e1ee6c. We’ll note it.
In the meantime, I hope the History feature can serve as a workaround in this case.

Thanks. I completely missed your previous message talking about the History function. 😜Yeah, that’ll work! There is no undo function in Android, but that’s a problem with Android, which is idiotic. All this time, I have been keeping one of my mobile devices or computer, all of whom have simple notes installed, offline just in case. I am glad that I no longer have to do that. Still, I hope you add that same feature.

@musicollector8cf7e1ee6c thank you again for your feedback on this! I’ll be sure to add your additional comments to the feature request!
